My Duty Stations
In April of 1983, I had completed my inprocessing at the 15th AG Replacement Det. I was told to return after lunch to be sent to my unit of assigment. I had initally been assigned to Company A, 15 Supply & Transporation Bn. Upon returning to the Replacement Det, I was informed to report to the III Corps CRIT - Coprs Readiness Inspection Team. The CRIT was in immideate need of a supply NCO. I suppose I was in the right place at the right time! After a short interview with the OIC I was attached to III Corps for duty with the CRIT. My assigned unit (15th S&T) requested I be re-assigned so they could fill that slot with a "warm body". I was then offically assigned to HHC, 1 Bn 8th CAV. Since that unit did not have any slots for my MOS ( 76P30) I was carried on the morning report as "excess" I reported there once a month to pick up my LES! In Novemeber, III Corps decided to change one-half of all inspectors to a civillian slot. Thus I was sent back to my unit. Due to a regorizanation, the 1/8 Cav was now authorize a 76P30 SSG. My job would be to supervise the consolated PLL/TAMMS office. Since, the change had not officaly taken place, I went to Company B as Supply sgt. I worked as a 76Y30 until a MOS qualified NCO arrived. That happened about 8 months later. I then actually became supervisor of the BN Maint Supply office. Nine months later, I was once again assigned to HHC to replace the Admin NCO who was on PCS orders. I remained in the Ordley room until I PCSed to Alaska in Jan 86. I was then assigned to DMMC, Div Support Command, 6th Inf Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska
